Nvidia CEO: No next-gen GeForce GPUs for a ‘long time,’ but G-Sync BFGDs are coming soon - lampeound1949
The gamers hoping, wishing, and praying for a new-sprung contemporaries of GeForce card game to arrive this week got some defective news from the company's Chief operating officer during a Computex weight-lift briefing: The hardware won't show up for a "yearn time."
When reporters asked when the untried GeForce GPUs will set up, Nvidia Chief executive officer Johannes Vilhelm Jensen Huang responded, "IT's a long time from now."
Huang had just finished announcing Nvidia's Jetson Xavier, which Huang aforementioned is the first computer designed specifically for robotics. Supercharged by sestet processors—including a Volta Tensor nitty-gritty GPU, eight ARM64 cores, and deep encyclopaedism accelerators and pictur processors—Xavier is the kind of computer that could be used to build a robot to hand you a wrench in the lab, like Tony Stark's Jarvis.
Most of Nvidia's news conference centralized on colorful learning, AI, and some other advances the company has been focused on new, but nothing to feed the insatiable hunger of PC gamers for more performance.
Keep back in mind, Nvidia has never said when new GeForce graphics cards would come, but that hasn't stopped many sites from reportage when the hardware would break cover. Up until recently, next-gen GeForce GPUs had been said to plunge at Computex, and then E3. That moving aim has apparently now moved again.
Gordon Mah Ung Nvidia says the BFGD is still on target for a launch subsequent this class.
The Good News
Now for the well news: Nvidia's Big Format Play Displays (BFGD), which are basically massive 65-inch G-Sync HDR monitors, should be available later this year.
Nvidia had the Asus ROG BFGD along display and it appeared far closer to release timber than what we saw at CES. During that originally show, BFGD prototype monitors looked pretty rough and were powered past desktop major power supplies posing close.
The Asus ROG BFGD we saw on Monday moved the power provide indoors the display and seemed fairly polished. Nvidia aforementioned BFGDs are on target for later this year, and it looks likely to let go of on time—which is certainly not how the establish of other G-Synchronise HDR panels went. The first wave of long-delayed G-Sync 4K HDR panels wealthy person only now finally started to go along sale after being undraped in January 2017.
What is a "long time"
If you're dejected you won't throw a GPU capable of driving a 4K 144Hz HDR instrument panel, there is some hope. Piece the next GeForce won't show up this week—and likely not at the big E3 play show next workweek—Huang was plainly being coy about its launch. A "long time" could honestly mean July or August, which is the live rumor.
But at this point, you mightiness As well also guess September, October, November, and December, to a fault. And then toss in 2019 to be safe.
